Niah's ROAR - Captain: Renae Rief
"Hi! I'm Niah Rief a 5th grader at Adams Elementary. You might know my 3rd grade brother Cohen, he's a great friend! Good times include root beer floats, sprinkle donuts, pickles, ketchup, popcorn and of course giggling!  I also enjoy music, dancing, playing drums, swinging, tubing, movie night and the outdoors! What matters the most to me is spending time with friends and family--I love it!!! be YOU, be KIND and be BRAVE!!"JOIN US as WE CELEBRATE Niah's ROAR...Reaching Out for Acceptance ROCKS!!

Why JOIN us for the WALK??

It is one big PARTY celebrating individuals with Down Syndrome!! The PARTY is all about ACCEPTANCE, DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, possABILITIES and of course CELEBRATING how COOL it is to have NIAH SIENNA in our lives!! It is an opportunity for FAMILY, FRIENDS and SCHOOL staff to "say" we EMBRACE, LOVE and ACCEPT Niah and the DS community!! Lastly it is our time as parents to Niah to say "THANK YOU" for so much BURSTING amount of SUPPORT!! --Niah also LOVES the's like a really big FRIENDS, FAMILY, SCHOOL PARTY!!

Why join us in donating to DSAF?

There are wonderful national resources for the DS Community--other statewide DS groups, blogs, research, conferences etc. We tap resources all over the place however DSAF holds a special place in our lives. We received news on Oct 2006 that SURPRISE we would have a BABY GIRL to be born with DS. The doctor referred us to the DSAF Nebraska resource and we attended a meeting the very next night. Over the years the DSAF Assoc has provided us a local connection to advocates, professionals and friends in the field of DS. We learned about early therapies, turned to DSAF members for advocacy advice, attended DSAF activities provided in a safe environment, Cohen has gained friends and education for siblings...our involvement has evolved over time however we have a lifetime group of local resources that can't be replaced and we want to have new parents and families entering into the Lincoln community to have this same access.  This journey has been a good SURPRISE and the network of DSAF is just one of the good surprises!
